Hey people! Yup it has been forever and a day since I have been blogging and even making any cards. I was so stoked to get messages from ya'll making sure I was ok, you guys are very sweet! I got caught up in exams, and then somewhere along the way forgot how much I actually love making cards. Today's foray into the craft room was a little scary, so I played it super simple :)

The past couple months have flown by, have been doing a lil DIY with hubby, a little baking, a little studying, and not too much else! Am looking forward to catching up on what everyone has been up to!

A no layer lazy card for ya'll today, I was seriously itching to put just a lil bit of ribbon on but I restrained myself. I am scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to find birthday stuff in my stash! But I think this lil granny is cute. Me in 30-40 years people! (Dear god hopefully not sooner...I swear my fore-head wrinkes get bigger every day...)

For Happy Birthday cards day 4, I forced myself to not use any DP, and to try and make a masculine card. Always tricky tricky for myself to do, I think purely for the fact that when I buy card stuff, I am always attracted to the gorgeous pinks, glitters etc. I used the background stamp from SU's Dad's Day (I think that is what its called) which I havent touched since last fathers day! And the corrugated card is just some packaging from something I ordered online :)

Another simple card using some scrap AC paper, thickers etc. These Heidi Grace (By Fiskars) pins have been in my stash for-eva, but since they matched the thickers perfectly I had to chuck 'em in there :)

Isnt that snail so sweet! Today's happy birthday card features some (I think) K&Co 3D stickers, I also have the paper range for these too, but since I had this card in mind for a girl I wanted to keep the colors somewhat neutral. Also my fall-to Kraft paper, scallop edge punch and some Cristina Re paper. Super Simple!

So I am always at a bit of a shortage when it comes to birthday cards, and so that is my goal for the week, nothing but birthday cards! I actually wanted to use some sweet grapefruit puffy thickers for this card but it didn't quite work out :( So sort of slapped on the stamping at the bottom and the thin strip of kiwi and gave up!

Wells I'm off to finally get out of my pajamas lol, hubs was back to work today so Ella and I have spent the morning blobbed out watching movies- Kate and Leopold, and Mermaids! Love it :) We are checking out "housey" type stuff today at the hardware store, fun! (No actually, I love looking around for lil DIY stuff that we can do for the house! One of my many quirks :))

Hi Guys! Another easy peasy card using some new goodies. In fact basically only new goodies! I am weird like that if i get something new I have to use as much of it in one go as possible. Same with clothes, if I get a new top and pants, guarantee I will wear them both first chance I get.

Hey people! I seem like I have been very slack and not posting, but we are away from home for the week (time with family) and I had a 2 sketches card all set up but the stupid internet connection was not cooperating! So I will share when I get back - its a pretty c-razy looking card anyways, so you're really not missing much! Lol.
Picked up some AC goodness while I have been away - here, here, and some gawjus cupcake paper I cant find anywhere! And you kno ribbon and thickers etc etc. I was limited to a $10 spend. It was so hard to choose!

Hey guys! I am so loving how Kristina is getting her inspiration photos from her viewers. Such a cool idea! And isnt this guy such a cutie!

I made this super simple card last night using some owls from some American Crafts DP, and some punched circles. I was a bit cheaty, the centre owl originally had a pink nose which I colored in black hehe. The sentiments reads: "A Wise man once said...follow your dreams, except the one where you're at work in your underwear."

Hey guys! I have been slowly getting back into my challenges, both in blogworld and SCS and can you believe I didn't even realise that there were CAS challenges on SCS until like the last week or so. Seriously I am so unobservant! I was so inspired by this card by Lisa (I always forget how amazing Kraft paper looks with a line image) and I have never actually used this detailed lil bird from one of my Cristina Re stamp sets. Cute but crazily hard to cut out- what was I thinking! And the ribbbon is irking me, I couldnt find anything more olive in my stash. Sheesh I have a few complaints today!! Anywho I added a lil crystal effects to the leaves for a lil dimension, and added a few score lines- I had originally planned to score a box around the image but then didn't. (I don't have a scor-pal or anything like that, so it was all done the old fashioned way:)) But other than that its pretty self explanatory and simple simple.

Hey folks! This was the card I made just before my Kristina card yesterday...then I thought I would be totally unoriginal and pretty much use the same materials and layout for the Kristina colors! Are you sick of this Hero Arts stamp yet? There are just so many cool things to do with it I couldn't help but crack it out again last night. I love the look of it embossed on black, kinda a zebra thing going on. I am gutted that the sentiment bled a Lil tho, I wanted a stickier black ink to use on this stamp (I find the SU inks aren't great on photo-polymer stamps, the inks don't stick enough) but I forgot this Versamark black bleeds a bit especially on this textured CS. Anywho I am rambling, gotta go we are painting our lounge! Translation my lovely hubs is painting, and I am busy tyring to keep our lil mischief from 'helping' ;)

Hey folks! So we New Zealander's are sometimes a little behind in getting all the cool scrapbook goodies, so when I saw this Hero Arts woodgrain stamp for sale, I had to grab it! Woodgrain patterns seem to be popping up everywhere and I've been loving what Kristina has been doing with hers :) The second card is using a layout from Debra Currier who is one of my daily stops for CAS layouts (I think she got hers from SCS). The third and fourth cards are using some dusty old stamps - I love putting old stuff to good use though!

A week in cards!

Hey peeps! I am still alive, I have just had hubby pretty much to myself all week (He's got some time off, yay!) So have just been making the most of it! I am behind on everything, the washing, posting on here, I havent been for a run in a week! But its been lots of fun hangin with hubs :)

So in keeping with me being super slack this week, I forgot to take pics of my photos till 5 mins ago - its dark and rainy and horrible= yuck pictures! So please disregard the icky pics! I actually have one more card I made as well; I finally found some little decorative scissors that look like the edge on postage stamps? You know the kind. I used them on the little white card with the bird and the ladybug. So fun! But the photo I took of that was the worse one in the lot so I will share tommorow ;)

The stamp I used on the last card is the first stamp I ever brought! Crazy! I brought it to use on thank-you cards after I got married, and thats where I got hooked I think!

I'm a slacker, its been a long time since I have participated in one of 2 sketches 4 you's fab challenges! I did have their sketch in my mind this week however, and when I sat down to make a card today with this gorgeous BG blush I dug out of my stash I new it would be awesome to combine the two :) The bit I did get sticky on was the sentiment I had planned to run down the side just looked silly...so I wanted thickers instead, but I haven't topped up my stash in ages and basically all I have is a bunch of zzz's and v's and no vowels - you know the letters you never use, and then get stuck with! So I combined two different lots of thickers and flipped an n to make a u haha sneaky sneaky!

Hey guys! My lovely mum asked me to do a couple of cards for her for a birthday/mothers day. There is another one but I hated it so I'm not showing you ha ha! One of them is for mum actually, so hopefully she wont look at my blog for the next week!

I got a bunch of these mothers day rubons when we were in Palmy last week doing a lil window shopping, and I asked hubby what he was getting me for mothers day. First he said you dont get a mothers day present till Ella can buy one for you herself (cheeky) and then he said, well you are getting an SU order this week aren't you? I'm all, yeah but I'm going to get that anyway! He rolled his eyes at me and dragged his feet all the way to the scrapbook store! Poor boy! I was super quick though so I wouldn't be too bad a wifey :)

Isnt that owl sweet! I think that the colors are a bit vibrant for the rest of the card but dangit I cut it out and I wanted to use it! Its more AC dp - a whole sheet of lil owls dying to be cut out! The rest of the paper is SU sweet slumber specialty paper - its printed on textured cardstock weight! Such a good idea! The only problem being when you do use it as I base as I have here, sometimes the other side can be a little to vibrant a print to be used on the centre of a card.

Hey! So today's card is amazingly using more summer sun! Crazy! I think I am slowly being less scared of bright colours. The stamp is a new set from Heidi Grace, I think the set may be called home sweet home but I'm not positive. The trim and the paper is AC. I got a crazy good deal on all this stuff; 3x papers 2x ribbon and a stamp set for $16! Can you believe that! I love my 20% disc at Spotlight! If only they had one locally :(

Hey peeps! This card is using some more s.e.i poppy - as soon as I saw this sheet of DP I thought it would be so cute with gems accenting some of the centres of the dots :)
